Nearly 200 Utica Center for Science and Industry were able to glimpse their futures by experiences technology and robotics being used at one local hospital.
Students toured the Moceri Learning Center at Beaumont Hospital, a medical training facility on the Troy campus.
The facility allows The center includes a state-of-the-art skills laboratory which is home to the new family of patient simulators, computer laboratory, classrooms and is connected to a multimedia auditorium.
The skills laboratory includes the family of four high-fidelity patient simulators: mom, dad, baby and junior. The life-like, robotic patients interact with their caregivers and are programed to simulate various medical emergencies, surgical procedures and conditions.
Students were able to view the DaVinci surgical robot presentation, provide hands-on experiences with the robot and share the high-tech mannequins used for simulated procedures.
